Although Christmas may be a little different this year here at Millers Dene we are determined to ensure the children have a great time and experience the magic that surrounds Christmas. Here are a few things that we’ve been up to over the past week.
Big Oaks and Chestnut News
The Big Oaks have been reading the Smartest Giant in Town this week and have been using language relating to size. They have made collages and have been building the Giant’s house with bricks. Chestnuts have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk. They have been making beanstalk collages and leave printing, as well as exploring the mobilo to make structures.
Little Acorns News
Little Acorns have had fun in the sun exploring the giant bubble wands, they have also had lots of fun exploring circles this week. They have been drawing around hoops with chalk and jumping in and out of them. The Little Acorns have been developing their physical skills climbing in and out the tyres.
Little Acorns News
This week the Little Acorns have been exploring fantasy worlds. They’ve been on journey’s through the water with boats and people. They have also been out in the garden splashing in puddles thanks to the typical British Summer! Little Acorns have also explored their creative side using squirty paint and rollers!
Big Oaks and Chestnuts News
Currently the theme is fantasy worlds, Big Oaks and Chestnuts have been exploring the woodland area. Big Oaks have been practicing their paint brush control painting bears and exploring the small world wild animals. Chestnuts have been exploring Jack and the Beanstalk!
Day Care News
At the end of our second week open the children, staff and parents have adapted fantastically to our ‘new’ way of working and we hope that as the weeks go on we can get back to some more normality!
We are taking applications now for 2 year offer places and 3 year old funded places in September, please get in touch if you would like to book a place.
